Help
The two things people ask about most: stopping the browser notifications, and removing the installed app. Both take under a minute, and neither one touches your account, wishlist or email alerts.
1. Turn browser notifications off
Browser notifications are the alerts enabled with one tap on a product page - the pop-up on this device when a watched price drops or a sold-out store restocks. No account is needed to stop them, and there are three ways: switch off one product, press the single button that turns everything off on this device, or block them in the browser itself.
Stop notifications for one product only
- Open the product page and find the Send Alerts for price / stock section.
- Pick Browser notifications - if this device already watches that product, the button under the store picker says Enabled.
- Tap it once to switch this device's watch for that product off. Every other product you watch keeps working.
Stop all notifications from TheTuningChoice on this device
The fast way needs no settings menu at all - one button, and it works in every browser that ever showed you one of these alerts, on this device:
Pressing it removes every product watch this device holds, and the push subscription behind them - nothing can be delivered to it after that. The one thing no web page can reach is the browser's own allowed/blocked switch, so if you also want the site blocked at the source, use your browser's own steps:
- Android (Chrome): tap the padlock icon in the address bar → Permissions → Notifications → switch it off. Chrome also lists the site under Settings → Site settings → Notifications.
- Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Firefox): click the padlock (or the site-identity icon) in the address bar → Site settings / Permissions → set Notifications to Block.
- Safari on macOS: Safari has no padlock menu for this - open the menu bar and go Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications, find this site in the list and set it to Deny. If the site is not in that list, it never asked for permission here.
- Safari on iPhone / iPad: only applies if the site was added to the Home Screen - see the iPhone note below for the path through the phone's own settings.
Blocking in the browser stops every notification from this site on this device. The individual product watches stay listed until a sync notices the device is gone and clears them - nothing else changes.
iPhone users - this option barely ever existed for you
Safari on iPhone does not offer browser notifications from a normal tab at all: Apple allows them only when the site is added to the Home Screen (iOS 16.4 or newer), and even then they behave differently from Android and desktop. So if you never added it to the Home Screen, nothing was turned off on your phone - the option simply was never there. Use the Email option on any product page instead: those alerts go to a free account's email address and reach you on every device, iPhone included.
If you did add it to the Home Screen and enabled notifications there, switching them off is the phone's own Settings app, not Safari: open Settings → Notifications, find TheTuningChoice in the app list and switch Allow Notifications off. Deleting the Home Screen icon (long-press → Remove App) stops them too.
2. Remove the TheTuningChoice app
If the site was added to a phone or desktop as an app (from the header's Download menu), removing it is a normal uninstall - and the same instructions work for a botched removal where the browser refuses to offer the install again. The short version: the browser's own app list is the source of truth, and on Chrome that list is at chrome://apps.
Chrome on Windows, Linux or macOS
Dragging the app to the Trash/Recycle Bin removes the launcher icon only - Chrome keeps the app registered, and a registered app is never offered the install dialog again. The remove lives in Chrome's own app list:
- Type
chrome://appsinto the address bar and press Enter (you cannot click a chrome:// link - it must be typed). - Find TheTuningChoice., right-click it and choose "Remove from Chromeโฆ".
- Tick "Also delete data" if offered, and confirm.
- macOS only: open Finder โ Applications (or your home folder) โ the Chrome Apps folder, and drag any leftover TheTuningChoice app to the Trash.
- Reload the site - Download โ macOS is one tap again.
Microsoft Edge (Windows)
Edge keeps its own copy of the list:
- Type
edge://appsinto the address bar and press Enter. - Find TheTuningChoice., right-click it and choose "Uninstall".
- Tick "Also clear data from Microsoft Edge" and confirm. Also remove it from the Start menu if a tile remains.
Safari on macOS ("Add to Dock")
A Safari web app is a real (small) app - the Dock icon is the whole thing:
- Quit the app if it is running (right-click its Dock icon โ Quit).
- Open Finder โ Applications โ TheTuningChoice, and drag it to the Trash (or right-click โ "Move to Trash").
- Optional: Safari โ Settings โ Websites removes any stored permissions with it.
iPhone / iPad (Home Screen icon)
The icon is a normal web clip - deleting it is the whole uninstall:
- Touch and hold TheTuningChoice. on the Home Screen (the icon you added via โฏ three dots beside the address bar, or the Share button).
- Tap "Remove App" โ "Delete Bookmark" (wording varies slightly by iOS version).
- Optional: Settings โ Safari โ Advanced โ Website Data โ swipe away thetuningchoice.in.
Android
Chrome's uninstall is the launcher's:
- Touch and hold TheTuningChoice. on the Home Screen or in the app drawer.
- Tap "Uninstall" (or drag it to Uninstall) and confirm - Chrome removes the app and its registration together.
- Optional: Chrome โ โฎ โ Settings โ Site settings โ All sites โ thetuningchoice.in โ "Clear & reset".
What removing the app does - and what it does not
Nothing here deletes your account or data on the site: the installed app is just this website in its own window, and the wishlist, alerts and settings live in your account on the server, untouched. Removing the app does stop its browser notifications on that device (they were tied to the installed app); email alerts continue unless you turn those off separately. To delete the account itself - email address, wishlist, alerts, reviews - open Account and choose delete account; that one is permanent.
